As of July 01, 2012 we are now the Valparaiso Fire Protection Territory. This is great news as now all we are waiting for is the DLGF to approve our "Tax Rate" for the territory. It is getting closer and closer to being a reality. With that being said, we are going to wait to move Rescue 3 in town until either, we get approval from the DLGF or we are approximately 2 weeks from the new Porter Hospital Campus opening.

During our Extrication Training we learned many techniques and were shown some tools that could make us more efficient on an extrication. A couple of the tools that our members were really impressed with were the "Rescue Jacks" and "Milwaukee Metal Cutting Saw". Our goal is to secure funding to purchase the saws this year and the jacks in the near future.
We would like to commend DC of Training Weber on a fine job of organizing this training. All went very well and we believe it was beneficial for all of our members. We should all be excited for future training events based on how this went.

We have installed "Solution Centers" at all the stations for our station cleaning supplies.  When mixing a solution you should use cold water, per the manufacturer. Please make yourself familiar with the use of this product. The station officers should be able to answer any questions you might have, if not, feel free to contact me.

Thanks to B crew Station 1
They rearranged some shelving in the back by the bottle fill station and installed the new mixing station for our cleaning solutions. It looks great and is a much better use of space.
