Purchasing Tickets 

You can purchase your tickets for the V-Line the following ways: at Valparaiso City Hall, through the Token Transit Ticket App, and/or by purchasing a one-way fare using exact change On-Board the V-Line Bus. The standard rate for 1-Way fare for all V-Line Trips is $1.00. Some discounts are available to those who qualify, such as students, seniors, or individuals with a disability. 

Valparaiso City Hall 

Tickets may be purchased at Valparaiso City Hall at 166 Lincolnway. Valparaiso City Hall is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Monthly Passes are available for purchase at City Hall. 

Token Transit

Tickets for the V-Line may be purchased through the Token Transit Mobile App. Through the Token Transit Mobile App, a digital bus pass is shown to the driver as the passenger gets on board the V-Line Bus.  Instructions on how to use the Token Transit App are available on the Token Transit Site or can be found on the V-Line Buses and at Valparaiso City Hall. On-Board Tickets 

1-Way tickets can be purchased using exact change on-board the buses, the Bus Driver does not carry change.To purchase your 1-Way fare, you must have exact change, show the Bus Driver the correct amount, and drop your fare money into the cash box On-Board the Bus. No receipts can be given for fares purchased on-board the buses.

Lost, Stolen & Technical Issues with Tickets 

The City of Valparaiso and V-Line are not responsible for lost or stolen tickets. Please keep your ticket in a safe place and keep track of it as it were cash. Tickets cannot be replaced if they are Lost or Stolen. NO EXECPTIONS. Passes are not transferable or replaceable. All sales are final. However, if you experience technical issues, please contact Token Transit at help@tokentransit.com.

Reduced Fare Application

Individuals with disabilities may apply for the V-Line reduced fare program. Once accepted into the reduced fare program, an individual is issued a reduced fare card. Presenting a valid reduced fare card when boarding the bus or purchasing a monthly pass ensures that you receive the the discounted price.

Transfers


Transfers allow you to make connections to all parts of the community. Ask for a transfer as you pay your fare. Transfers are free and are good for two hours to continue your trip. You cannot use a transfer to back track along a route you’ve already traveled. For example, if you are traveling on the green route, and transfer to the yellow route, you cannot use the transfer for the next bus traveling back on the green route. Additional fares apply. 

Other Information
The V-Line shall not discriminate against any person or group of persons with regard to the availability or quality of transportation service furnished as a part of the project on the basis of race, color, or national origin. Frequency of service, age, quality and number of vehicles assigned to specific areas shall not be determined on the basis of color, race or national origin. 

The V-Line shall ensure that opportunities to participate in the transit planning and decision making processes are provided to person without-regard race, color or national origin. Alternative Formats Available Upon Request.
