The Valparaiso Firefighters are unionized and are affiliated with the
International Association of Firefighters (IAFF),
Professional Fire Fighters Union of Indiana (PFFUI), and the Indiana State AFL-CIO.
The Local # with the IAFF is Local # 1124, and was officially established on May 4th, 1953. Membership within the Local is currently 66 members strong. Meetings are held on a monthly basis for various discussion, and to plan charitable fundraising efforts that are hosted throughout the year for many different worthy causes.
