The Forest Park Picnic Area is a 10-acre park with two shelters. It is one of the most popular leisure sites in the city and is located just off Harrison Boulevard, west of Campbell Street. View a map of Forest Park.
On the extreme west end of the park is an open play area suitable for ball games, Frisbee, volleyball, or relaxing in the sun. Near the Rotary Shelter is a newly refurbished playground. Just a short walk to the east will bring you to Ogden Gardens and its unique floral displays, gazebo, memorial gardens, trees, and shrubs.
The Beta Shelter has open sides and is large enough to accommodate 100 persons. Open space around this shelter allows for volleyball or other games. Restrooms are located within approximately 50 yards away in a separate restroom building. View additional information about the Beta Shelter.
The Rotary Shelter will accommodate more than 100 people and is located on top of the hill, surrounded by large trees, which offer welcome shade. Approximately 50 yards from the shelter, on a paved pathway, is the restroom building. View additional information about the Rotary Shelter.
