The Rental Registration Program requires all residential rental properties to be registered with the City of Valparaiso.

The purpose is to facilitate the prevention and correction of violations of all laws and ordinances pertaining to residential rental properties and to protect the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Valparaiso.

Registration Information
All residential rental units must be registered. The fee is $10 per unit. A registration application form must be submitted for each building.

Whenever the ownership of a registered rental property changes, the new owner must submit a change of ownership form within 30 days of sale and pay a $5.00 administrative fee.

The city accepts cash or check only, payable to the City of Valparaiso. If paying by mail, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
