Accessible Transportation

The City offers two bus services to our residents and visitors: our commuter bus to Chicago called the ChicaGo Dash and our deviated fixed-route bus called the V-Line.

All of the City's buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts. If you use a mobility aid such as a wheelchair, walker, or if you require the aid of the lift due to a disability please feel free to take full advantage of this feature. To request to use of the lift simply ask the driver and they will happily assist you.

In addition to the City's two bus services, Porter County Aging and Community Services and Opportunity Enterprises offer additional accessible bus service in Valparaiso. For more information on either of these services, select the appropriate link here: PCACS Opportunity Enterprises

Valparaiso is proud to offer up over 14 miles of pathways throughout our city. These pathways are at least eight feet wide instead of the standard five foot sidewalk. This allows for greater freedom of movement for those with mobility aids and makes passing another mobility aid possible without going off the path. For more information, visit the City's Pathways page.
