Interested in a career in Law Enforcement?
The Valparaiso Police Department is seeking high school students that represent good citizenship and have an interest in a law enforcement career for the Junior Police Academy.
The Junior Police Academy is an interactive class designed for high school students to meet officers and learn about the daily activities of police work. Classes in the Junior Police Academy include traffic enforcement, investigations, criminal law, traffic stops, physical tactics, K9, taser, E.R.T., crime scene investigation, and various other topics. The class further allows an opportunity for students to partake in a field day, where they can show their learned skills in a variety of mock police related activities.
Space in the Junior Police Academy is limited, with applications available at the Valparaiso Police Department (355 Washington St.). Please contact Sgt. Yokovich pyokovich@valpopd.com with any questions.
The Academy will be held from 9:00am-5:00pm, June 12-15, 2023. Applications due by June 2, 2023.
