To enhance safety, a new traffic signal will be installed at the State Road 130 and Froberg Road intersection in Valparaiso, announced Valparaiso’s Engineering Director Mike Jabo. The signal will begin with a flashing light in the first days of installation and then become a signaled crossing about August 1, once motorists have become more accustomed to its location, explained Jabo.
The new signaled crossing is part of the City of Valparaiso’s 2022 infrastructure upgrade program, an ambitious $5.6 million program that includes a combination of resurfacing, new sidewalks and pathways, roadway-extending projects and safety upgrades. The City has introduced an interactive overview map of infrastructure projects, available at tinyurl.com/ValpoWorks.
